Join us for a panel discussion in this hybrid event. In 2022, a metal detector hobbyist in the Netherlands made a rare find: a dog tag belonging to Louis Gertzberg, a WWII soldier from Malden. Even more unusually, he was able to locate the soldier's family and return the dog tag to its rightful owners. This amazing story was covered by Linda Matchan for the Boston Globe. 

For this panel, we are excited to welcome Linda Matchan; the Gay family, to whose family member the dog tag belonged; and Laurent Stemkens, the Dutch metal detectorist who found and returned the dog tag.
